Braemar Hospital welcomes patient visits by family/whānau and friends and offers two visitor lounges, a courtyard and tea and coffee making facilities.

Visiting hours are between 11.00am and 8.00pm, however other times may be arranged by patients with their nurse.

If the patient you are visiting would like more rest, the nursing staff may restrict the number of visitors.

For security reasons the main doors of the hospital are locked each evening at 7pm, and during the weekends. Access to the hospital can be gained by pushing the call button to the left of the main doors.

Please take into consideration the needs of other patients by minimising noise and ensuring young children are supervised at all times.

For hygiene reasons it is also requested that visitors do not use patient toilets. There is a public toilet with wheelchair access located near reception at the entrance to the hospital.

To prevent damage to the hydraulic system, we request that visitors refrain from sitting on the beds.

COVID-19

While COVID-19 continues to circulate through the community, we need to continue to help stop the spread of this virus. It’s important to us that we protect our patients, our visitors and our staff.

If you are unwell with cold or flu-like symptoms, you should not come into the hospital.

If a household member has COVID-19, please wear a mask. Masks are available at the entrance to the hospital.

Currently, Health New Zealand Te Whatu Ora recommends isolation of COVID-19 cases for a minimum of five days. Visit info.health.nz for current public information on COVID-19.

Braemar Hospital follows Health New Zealand Te Whatu Ora COVID-19 guidelines for health professionals.
