Dr Hugh Clarkson

Dr Clarkson was a Specialist Anaesthetist who worked at Braemar Hospital for many years.
He served as a Trustee of the Braemar Charitable Trust from 1976 until 2003, and held the role of Chairman from 1992 until 2003.
He was also the first Chairman of Braemar Hospital Ltd from 2000.
The theatre suite at our Ohaupo Road hospital is named after Dr Clarkson in recognition of his service to Braemar over many years.
His very good friend and colleague Mr Patrick Beehan crafted a memorial bronze plaque of Dr Clarkson and has donated this to the hospital.
Dr Clarkson turned the first sod on our new hospital site on 22 March 2006.
